Race  Results and News:

Team Quest Criterium, Hillingdon Circuit 5th May 2010.

A mixed result for the Wheelers at their second outing at Hillingdon. Steve Wheeler was up in thick of the action in the front group for the opening leg of the 1 hour plus 5 lap race and managed to stick with the pace of the main bunch for approximately 3/4's of the race, before bowing out.

Alan had better fortunes than his previous race at the weekend, to finish in the top 10 despite suffering cramp in the last 2 laps.

Overall winner was David Phillips of the Corinium CC.

Team Corley Cycles/Alpha RC Road Race - Cranfield, Bedfordshire. 1st May 2010

Alan Headland entered the undulating 35 mile race last weekend lasting for 10 out of the 14 laps before being dropped by the bunch on the long 3/4 of a mile hill in the first part of the circuit. He rode the last 4 laps solo to continue to the finish - 'never again' he was heard to mutter over a cuppa at the race HQ after the race.

Team Quest Criterium, Hillingdon Circuit 7th April 2010.

Steve Wheeler and Alan Headland had a successful event in Watton Wheelers first competetive outing. 40 - 50 riders lined up for a one hour race plus 5 laps on Hillingdon Circuit for the LVRC Vets road race

Steve in his first ever road race found the initial burst of speed from the bunch a bit of surprise but soon got into his stride to overtake other riders and finish in the bunch, a great result for a first time ride - well done Steve!

Alan in his first race for 5 years, despite being nearly taken out by another rider managed to finish in the bunch for a third place in Group C (riders aged 50-54).

The race was won by  Mick Hill of Team Quest. Due to fading light the race ran for 3/4 of an hour plus 5 laps, 19 miles covered at an average of 24.3 mph   Both riders have signed up for more races, so watch for further results.
